Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated rhevm-reports packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.
Description
The Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization reports package provides a suite of pre-configured reports and dashboards that enable you to monitor the system. The reports module is based on JasperReports and JasperServer, and can also be used to create ad hoc reports.
Changes to the rhevm-reports component:
- A new domain 'Statistics Hourly Domain' for ad hoc reports has been added in addition to the 'Statistics Daily Domain'. With this update, users can now create more detailed ad hoc reports based on hourly statistics data. (BZ#1222532)
- Previously, when engine-setup upgraded Reports, ad hoc reports were exported using an incorrect url that contained a leading slash, and this caused the reports to be removed as they were not exported. Now, the code has been changed to remove leading and trailing slashes from the configured url so that the saved ad-hoc reports are correctly exported and imported during the upgrade. (BZ#1224889)
- Previously, the BR2A and BR2C reports did not show all of the virtual machine resource usage information in the graph/charts and the disk and network graph/charts were empty. Now, the report query has been fixed and shows all of the virtual machine resource usage information in the graph/charts. (BZ#1290238)
- This update adds new fields representing information about hosts to the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Reports capability, allowing users to use these fields in ad hoc reports. (BZ#1199513)
- Previously, the reports plugin for engine-setup did not recreate the data warehouse data source on upgrade, but kept the existing data sources. Engine-backup could restore data warehouse with changed database credentials, but relied on engine-setup to configure reports to access the data warehouse database. After restoring a system with a data warehouse and reports, where the data warehouse was restored to a different database, reports could not access the data warehouse database. Now, the reports engine-setup plugin has been changed to always create the data warehouse data source, so that reports can access the data warehouse database. (BZ#1229398)
- Previously, there were issues in the SQL queries of BR2A and BR10A reports regarding disk and network usage and network usage was not displayed in BR2A and BR10A and disk was not displayed in BR10A. Now, the SQL queries have been corrected so that the data is shown in the reports. (BZ#1243662)
- Previously, the security validator of Jasper reports prevented the use of full width parentheses and in Chinese this broke the ad hoc domains. Now, the use of full width parentheses has been added ad hoc domains work as expected. (BZ#1211052)
- Previously, there were mistakes in the localization files for fields related to the Cluster items in the ad hoc report and the column headers did not fit the data. Now, the localization files have been corrected so that the column headers fit the data. (BZ#1202743)
- With this update the total RX/TX byte statistics for the hypervisor and virtual machine network interfaces have been added to statistics ad hoc domains. This allows users the ability to calculate, for a specific time period, the RX/TX bytes used, per virtual machine or hypervisor interface. (BZ#1228991)
- The Hosts Heatmap Report was added to this release of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization. This report shows a heat map of the average utilization of CPU and memory on selected hosts over a specified time period, providing a visual view of CPU and memory status over time. (BZ#1132487)
- The Capacity Planning report has been added to track cluster capacity. This report tracks overall cluster allocations and shows details including number of hosts, number of virtual machines (running and configured), number of CPUs (configured, running and physical), memory size (configured, running and physical) including shared memory and ballooning, and storage size (amount allocated and used; configured, running) for defined disks and actual size per disk. (BZ#1112217)
