Product Enhancement Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated rtcheck packages that fix several bugs and add various enhancements are now available.
Description
The rtcheck program is an application that tests a running system for real-time capabilities. If all capabilities are identified, it will return an exit code of 0. If some capabilities are not present, it will return with a non-zero exit code. This program can be used by real-time-enabled programs to determine if the environment they are in is suitable for them to run correctly.
This update adds the following enhancement:
- The rtcheck start-up logic now uses systemd instead of a SysV init script. This removes the rtcheck dependency on the redhat-lsb-core package, and allows its output to be logged using the sysctl and journalctl utilities. (BZ#1162772)
Users of rtcheck are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which add this enhancement.
