RHEA-2004:580 - Product Enhancement Advisory
Synopsis
Updated up2date packages
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory
Topic
Updated up2date packages that add new functionality to firstboot and
rhn_register are now available.
Description
The Red Hat Update Agent automatically queries the Red Hat Network servers
and determines which packages need to be updated on your machine.
The up2date package includes new features that streamline the Red Hat
Network registration process for firstboot and rhn_register.
These packages include a friendlier user interface, as well as support for
Red Hat Enterprise Linux activation. These changes make it easier and
quicker for a user of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to make use of Red Hat Network.
All users of up2date should upgrade to these updated packages, which
include these enhancements.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
