Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated OpenStack Compute packages that resolve one issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.0 (Icehouse) for RHEL 7.
Description
Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform provides the facilities for building a private or public infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud running on commonly available physical hardware. This advisory includes packages for:
- OpenStack Compute service
OpenStack Compute (nova) launches and schedules large networks of virtual machines, creating a redundant and scalable cloud computing platform. Compute provides the software, control panels, and APIs required to orchestrate a cloud, including running virtual machine instances and controlling access through users and projects.
This update addresses the following issue:
- Shelving an instance leaves its volumes in an attached state, which the unshelve command did not consider and unconditionally attempted to re-attach the instance's volumes. This failed, because they were already attached, and consequently, it was not possible to unshelve a volume-backed instance. Now, unshelve no longer attempts to re-attach an instance's volumes if they are already attached, and as a result it is possible to unshelve a volume-backed instance. (BZ#1265745)
