Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated redhat-certification-hardware package that fixes/adds various bugs and enhancements is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7.
Description
The redhat-certification-hardware package contains the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Hardware Certification Test Suite, which verifies the compatibility of hardware devices.
Each test run builds a results database for submission to the Red Hat Hardware Catalog as an XML file. The redhat-certification-hardware package replaces the hwcert-client test suite package which certifies hardware for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
This update fixes/adds the following bugs and enhancements:
- 1244762: Video test updated to provide the display value with command xdpyinfo
- 1248180: Fixed a bug in profiler test only present in el6 version of redhat-certification-hardware
- 1248091: Fixed audio test issue where multiple devices weren't tested
- 1252895: Fixed bug for video test error in RHEL6
- 1253133: Fixed mkfs error and merge legitimate missing changes from el7 branch
- 1254313: Fixed an issue with DVD test running via cli
- 1254311: Fixed bluray test and gave 20 more seconds for processes to be done with the drive before attempting to write to the drive
- 1254759: Fixed optical tests on cli where it was not listing/accepting valid options
- 1250450: Corrected a bug and Kdump test modified in the following ways:
- When saving the crash core file, a UUID is generated and used to create the directory to look in when the second portion of the kdump test runs (upon restarting the panicked machine). This will be unique per test run.
- We know that there should only be one directory one level down from the new UUID directory. We will raise an error if more than one is detected.
- We no longer raise an error if the directory's created time (taken from directory name) is outside of the range previously permitted. Instead, now, we will raise a warning and select the closest one (the only one in the directory, else it would error).
All users of the redhat-certification-hardware package are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes/adds the above bugs and enhancements.
