Topic
Updated ovirt-hosted-engine-setup packages that fix several bugs are now
available.
Description
The ovirt-hosted-engine-setup package provides a self-hosted engine tool for Red
Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. A self-hosted engine is a virtualized
environment in which the Manager runs on a virtual machine on the hosts managed
by the Manager.
Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-ha component:
- In self-hosted engine environments, a failed connection to the ovirt-ha-broker
now returns a specific error message, rather than the full traceback.
(BZ#1219051)
Changes to the ovirt-hosted-engine-setup component:
- Previously, the self-hosted engine stored the HOST_ID for additional hosts as
a string, which prevented the Manager from properly identifying and contacting
VDSM on the host and resulted in failure to add the host. Now, the HOST_ID is
stored as an integer and the host is added to the self-hosted engine as
expected. (BZ#1221290)
- Previously, in the self-hosted engine 3.5.1, the option chosen for
user-configured or automatically configured firewall during the initial engine
deployment was also passed to any additional hosts subsequently added to the
environment. This meant that when adding a host with a user-configured firewall
to an engine with an automatically configured firewall, or vice versa, the
additional host would fail with an error as the engine would not be able to
connect to VDSM on the host. Now, the option to choose a user-configured or
automatically configured firewall is presented for additional hosts so that the
firewall configuration of the host is not dependent on the configuration chosen
at initial deployment and the engine is not prevented from connecting to VDSM
and adding the host as expected. (BZ#1222421)
- The error message has been updated to be more specific and helpful when
deployment of the self-hosted engine on iSCSI fails due to a dirty LUN.
(BZ#1208485)
