Topic
An updated lvm2-cluster package that fixes one bug is now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5 Extended Update Support.
Description
The lvm2-cluster package provides support for Logical Volume Management (LVM) in
a clustered environment.
This update fixes the following bug:
- On Highly Available LVM setup in a clustered environment, the clvmd initscript
tried to activate a logical volume even though it had already been activated
exclusively on another cluster node. The clvmd initscript was not designed to
handle this situation properly and such an activation attempt thus failed with
the "Volume is busy on another node" error message. Consequently, clvmd could
not be stopped properly on cluster node shutdown and also could not be started
during node startup. This update allows clvmd to determine whether the logical
volume is used exclusively on a different cluster node and such a logical volume
is then skipped during the activation process. The activation command no longer
fails and clvmd behaves as expected. (BZ#785679)
All users of lvm2-cluster are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
fixes this bug.
