RHBA-2011:0826 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
v7 bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated v7 package that fixes several bugs is now available.
Description
v7, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux hardware certification test suite, verifies the
compatibility of hardware devices. Each v7 test run builds a results database
for submission to Red Hat's hardware catalog as an RPM package. v7 replaces Red
Hat Hardware Test Suite (HTS) for certifying hardware for use with Red Hat
Enterprise Linux.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- Previously, test results were missing version information of the v7 test suite
that was used to run the test. The missing information has been added in this
update. (BZ#704404)
- Previously, when running a v7 test plan with the v7 1.2 or v7 1.3 test suite,
no ExpressCard device test was planned in the v7 test plan, although the device
was properly detected. This bug has been resolved so that the ExpressCard device
test is now planned as expected. (BZ#702491)
All users requiring v7 should install this newly released package, which fixes
these bugs.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
