Topic
A new fence-agents package for handling remote power management for several
devices is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
Description
Red Hat fence agents are a collection of scripts to handle remote power
management for several devices. They allow failed or unreachable nodes to be
forcibly restarted.
In this package, the following problems in RHEL5/RHEL6 are fixed:
- Fence agents package does not support WTI VMR. In this updated package, direct
support for WTI VMR was added. (BZ#578617)
- Fence agents package does not allow user to specify TCP/IP port for WTI
devices. In this updated package an option for specifying TCP/IP port was added.
(BZ#593726)
- Fence agents package fails on some ports on APC devices. In this updated
package all ports on APC work as expected. (BZ#606297)
- Fence agents package provides an obsolete warning when exceptions are
encountered. In this updated package the obsolete message no longer appears.
(BZ#612941)
- Fence agents package raises exception when an iLO user does not have enough
privileges. In this updated package, the proper error message is shown.
(BZ#615255)
- Fence agents package does not create correct metadata information. In this
updated package, all metadata information is shown. (BZ#618703)
- Fence agents package does not support the port option for the fence_drac5
agent. In this updated package, port is synonymous with module_name. (BZ#619096)
- Users of newer iLO3 devices and firmware may now tune the power_wait value to
increase fencing reliability. (BZ#642648)
All users requiring fence-agents should install this newly-released package,
which adds these enhancements.
