Topic
An updated s390utils package that fixes multiple bugs and adds two
enhancements is now available.
Description
The s390utils package contains utilities related to Linux for the
IBM System z architecture.
This update fixes the following bugs:
- The online help for chsh no longer shows "panic" as a valid state.
(BZ#561153)
- The --force option is now documented in the online help for zipl.
(BZ#577321)
- Non-zero values are no longer returned when lstape, ziomonm, or ziorep
finish successfully. (BZ#556916, BZ#556917, BZ#623252)
- When cmm_min is commented out in the cpuplugd configuration file,
cpuplugd is successfully prevented from running. (BZ#511379)
- Cpuplugd no longer terminates due to stack overwrite error on systems
with more than 30 CPUs. (BZ#601850)
- cpu_min is now set to 1 by default, which avoids expensive CPU
signaling if a workload is spread over two under-worked CPUs. (BZ#611789)
- Cpuplugd now enforces cmm_min and cmm_max values correctly. (BZ#611792)
- zipl now handles situations where I/O channels are very busy. Zipl
retries the channels rather than placing the system in disabled wait.
(BZ#537139, BZ#561155)
- lszfcp reports on LPAR more quickly. (BZ#518669)
- dasdview and fdasd no longer fail with a floating point error when they
run on for unformatted devices (BZ#536846)
- lsreipl now prints information about a booted NSS. (BZ#546298)
- ziomon now detects multipath devices correctly. (BZ#533958)
- ziomon reports the number of multipath LUNs correctly. (BZ#577319)
- vmconvert no longer shows control characters in its progress bar
(BZ#567688)
- The partition information for the zfcp dump partition in zipl.conf is
now reliable. (BZ#572312)
- qethconf ipa list now shows devices with subchannel set to values other
than 0. (BZ#627690)
- When establishing a terminal connection to an iucvtty instance on a
target system, iucvconn no longer disconnects due to a timeout of the
login program. (BZ#636203)
- ziomon no longer splits long device names across multiple lines.
(BZ#575830)
- The path for ziorep_config is no longer hard coded and therefore
ziomon can always find it. (BZ#576575)
- lsqeth now clears its print array for every qeth device and therefore
no longer includes devices from one layer when it lists a different
layer. (BZ#588356)
As well, this update adds the following enhancements:
- Information used by the Control Program Identification on LPAR is now
set from user-specified values. (BZ#476011)
- Group names in ts-shell are no longer restricted to alphanumeric
characters. (BZ#598636)
IBM System z users should install this updated package which addresses
these issues and adds these enhancements.
