Topic
An updated nfs-utils package that fixes a bug is now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.
Description
The nfs-utils package provides a daemon for the kernel Network File System (NFS)
server, and related tools such as the mount.nfs, umount.nfs, and showmount
programs.
This update fixes the following bug:
- Previously, the rpc.statd and rpc.mountd daemons could under circumstances use
the same UDP port, because the SO_REUSEADDR option is used for the for UDP
socket. This update resolves this issue and the daemons no longer use the same
UDP port. (BZ#648822)
All nfs-utils users should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves this
issue.
