Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated vdsm22 packages that fix multiple bugs are now available for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.5.
Description
VDSM is a management module that serves as a Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Manager agent on Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor or Red Hat
Enterprise Linux hosts.
Note: This update has been tested and is supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
5.5 (with all appropriate post-GA 5.5-specific updates).
These updated vdsm22 packages provide fixes for two bugs.
- On environments that were upgraded from Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Manager 2.1, a Storage Pool Manager (SPM) lease is obtained but immediately lost
on some storage domains. This leads to an unexpected restart of VDSM. With this
update, the SPM lease is correctly maintained on environments upgraded from
version 2.1. (BZ#662329)
- Some network drivers do not report the state of their link properly. For
network interfaces using these drivers, VDSM now uses the SIOCGIFFLAGS flag to
obtain the state of the link. (BZ#662622)
Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager 2.2 users with Red Hat Enterprise
Linux hosts should install these updated packages, which resolve these issues.
Alternatively, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager can install new
packages automatically.
