Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated pki-util, pki-common, pki-tps-ui, and pki-tps packages that fix
several bugs are now available for the Red Hat Certificate System 8.0.
Description
Red Hat Certificate System (RHCS) is an enterprise software system designed
to manage enterprise public key infrastructure (PKI) deployments.
These packages provide fixes for the following bugs:
- The policyConstraintsCritical value was always treated as false. Even if
the value was set to true, the value in any issued CA certificate was
false. (BZ#615814)
- The number of policy mappings used to be limited to five in the profile
policies. With this update, the number of mappings was changed allow for
more than five profile policies. (BZ#615827)
- It was possible to change the status of a token marked as permanently
lost or destroyed using the TPS administrative user interface. With this
update, the tokendb.allowedTransitions configuration parameter was added to
allow the administrator to customize the possible state transitions
available to tokens. For details, see
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/cert-system/8.0/admin/html/token-status-transitions.html. (BZ#609331)
Users of Red Hat Certificate System are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which resolve these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains
the desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
For users who wish to migrate an existing instance, the following additional
steps are required:
1. Update the pki-tps and redhat-tps-ui packages.
2. Copy /usr/share/pki/tps-ui/docroot/tokendb/show.template,
/usr/share/pki/tps-ui/doTokenConfirm.template, and
/usr/share/pki/tps-ui/docroot/tokendb/doToken.template to the instance's
docroot/tokendb directory (usually /var/lib/<instance_name>/docroot/tokendb),
replacing the current files.
3. Add the tokendb.allowedTransitions parameter to the instance's CS.cfg file,
with the defined token transitions.
4. Restart the instance.
