RHBA-2010:0393 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
yum-utils bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated yum-utils packages that resolve an issue are now available.
Description
yum-utils is a collection of utilities and examples for the yum package manager.
It includes utilities by different authors that make yum easier and more
powerful to use.
These updated yum-utils packages fix the following bug:
- the yum-complete-transaction utility finds incomplete or aborted yum
transactions on a system and then attempts to complete them. Following
dependency analysis, yum-complete-transaction could have marked packages for
removal which should have remained on the system and were important for its
operation. With this update, yum-complete-transaction analyzes the list of
packages to be removed more thoroughly and aborts the operation if it determines
that essential system packages would be removed. (BZ#574388)
All users of yum-utils are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
