Synopsis
openais bug-fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated openais packages that resolve various bug fixes are now available.
Description
These packages contain the openais executive, openais service
handlers, default configuration files, and init script.
This update applies the following bug fixes:
- Resolve defect where a user with inappropriate permissions could access
aisexec and cause it to segfault.
- Resolve defect where a missing message would cause the checkpoint service
to segfault the aisexec process under rare circumstances.
- Resolve defect where messages were not fully recovered in some rare cases
in the recovery state.
- Resolve defect where CPG users could face a priority inversion and
overload of the IPC system resulting in disconnection of the CPG service.
- Resolve defect where the IPC dispatch thread is flooded with signals
during overload conditions.
- Resolve defect where an aborted synchronization resulted in lost checkpoints.
- Resolve defect in how system call is used in ais-keygen.
- Resolve defect where synchronization of the global checkpoint ID didn't
occur properly.
- Resolve assertion which occurs when checkpoint close occurs during
overload conditions.
- Resolve assertion that occurs when thousands of checkpoints expire at
about the same time.
- Make lib_exit_fn work properly in overload conditions.
- Remove deadlock that occurs in IPC system under overload.
- Resolve defect where some messages are ignored in certain circumstances.
- Resolve regression to allow checkpoint service to roll upgrade.
All users of openais should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
