Topic
An updated s390utils package that fixes various bugs is now available.
Description
The s390utils package contains utilities related to Linux for the IBM S/390
architecture.
This updated s390utils package includes fixes for the following bugs:
- the zipl command did not accept a timeout parameter in the /etc/zipl.conf
configuration file.
- the zipl command failed when a section was specified on the command line
and the target was not repeated for all sections of the configuration file.
- The init script and configuration file for the mon_procd daemon and
mon_fsstatd daemon were missing from the s390utils package. Consequently
these daemons could not be built and used. The missing files have been
added in this update, thus resolving this issue.
- a variable number mismatch between the /etc/zfcp.conf configuration file
and the zfcpconf.sh shell script has been resolved.
- the dbginfo.sh shell script exited before running all tests and reported
the following errors: "kernelversion: command not found" and " [: =: unary
operator expected". This has been fixed so that dbginfo.sh exits without
errors.
- running any application with SELinux enabled and with the setting
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/src_vipa.so resulted in that application experiencing
a segmentation fault due to a problem with the location of the src_vipa.sh
shell script, which has been resolved in this updated package.
- lsdasd did not properly list all dasds passed as arguments on the command
line.
- zipl incorrectly looked for /usr/local/share/zfcpdump/zfcpdump.image
instead of /boot/zfcpdump. In addition, the documentation for the SCSI dump
feature has been improved in this updated package.
- the "Linux Raid" partition type was not retained when changed by using
fdasd for the first time after formatting the dasd with the dasdfmt command.
- the lsqeth(8) man page did not correctly describe the actual version of
the lsqeth utility.
- when called with either the '-s' or the '-b' option and with a
nonsensical argument, the dasdview command used "0" as the value passed in
instead of throwing an error or using a default value.
All users of s390utils are advised to upgrade to this updated package,
which resolves these issues.
