Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated gfs-utils packages that fix various bugs are now available.
Description
The gfs-utils packages provide the user-level tools necessary to mount and
use GFS file systems.
These updated gfs-utils packages apply the following bug fixes:
- The gfs_edit man page has been added.
- mkfs.fsck no longer will work on a mounted filesystem.
- gfs_tool lockdump now works properly on devices that aren't in '/dev'.
- gfs_tool df and gettune now allocate memory more intelligently to prevent
out of memory errors.
- gfs_fsck now repairs corruption due to past gfs_grow issues.
- unmounting gfs filesystems when /etc/mtab is a link to /proc/mounts no
longer produces incorrect error messages.
All users of gfs-utils should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
