Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
An updated sos package that adds an enhancement is now available.
Description
SOS is a set of tools that gather information about a system's hardware
and current configuration. This information can then be used for diagnostic
purposes and debugging.
The sosreport utility in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 did not feature
support for creating a tar archive of the data gathered by the "lvmdump"
script, which comes installed with the lvm2 package. This updated sos
package adds support for gathering "lvmdump" data.
Users of sos are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which adds
this enhancement.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
