Synopsis
gfs-utils bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated gfs-utils packages that fix various bugs are now available.
Description
The gfs-utils packages provide the user-level tools necessary to mount and
use GFS file systems.
These updated gfs-utils packages apply the following bug fixes:
- the lock_dlm lock protocol is set as the default lock protocol.
- gfs_grow failed when given mount point names ending with a slash(/).
gfs_grow will now grow GFS file systems when given a mount point argument
ending with a slash.
- accessing a large quota file caused gfs_quota to hang. gfs_quota now
parses the quota file faster causing the system to no longer hang on a
large file.
- growing a file system with gfs_grow no longer causes file corruption.
All users of gfs-utils should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
