RHBA-2007:0023 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
IBMJava2-SDK enhancement update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated IBMJava2-SDK packages that comprise IBM's 1.3.1 SR10 SDK release
are now available.
Description
This IBMJava2-SDK update comprises IBM's 1.3.1 SR10 Java release.
This update also includes the IBM Java 2 Software Development Kit.
The Java 2 Software Development Kit (SDK) is a development environment for
building applications, applets, and components that can be deployed on the
Java platform. The Java 2 SDK software includes tools useful for
developing and testing programs written in the Java programming language.
The Java 2 SDK software also includes a JDBC/ODBC bridge for Java
applications that need to communicate with a database.
This update includes IBM's 1.3.1 SR10 SDK release. It includes
new SDK fixes done by IBM between the SR6 and SR10 service releases.
All users of IBMJava2-SDK should apply this update, which
resolves these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
To update all RPMs for your particular architecture, run:
rpm -Fvh [filenames]
where [filenames] is a list of the RPMs you wish to upgrade. Only those
RPMs which are currently installed will be updated. Those RPMs which are
not installed but included in the list will not be updated. Note that you
can also use wildcards (*.rpm) if your current directory *only* contains the
desired RPMs.
Please note that this update is also available via Red Hat Network. Many
people find this an easier way to apply updates. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
