Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
Updated device-mapper packages that include various bug fixes and
enhancements are now available.
Description
The device-mapper packages provide a library required by logical volume
management utilities such as LVM2 and dmraid.
These packages include the following bug fixes and enhancements:
- included: dmeventd, a daemon used to monitor the state of mirrors
- removed: the 1KB limit on lines in tables that dmsetup processes
- added: pkg-config support for libdevmapper
- updated: dmsetup manual page
- fixed: several small memory leaks in the library
- If 'dmsetup create' is run with a table and the table load fails,
the table now gets removed instead of leaving the device behind without a
table.
- added: compatibility with old kernels that do not support referencing
mapped devices by device number
All users of device-mapper should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues and include these enhancements.
Solution

errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
