RHBA-2006:0322 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
squid bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated squid packages that fix errors with more than 1024 opened file
descriptors and redirecting SSL connections are now available.
Description
Squid is a high-performance proxy caching server for Web clients,
supporting FTP, gopher, and HTTP data objects.
Previously, squid could not handle more than 1024 simultaneous connections
via proxy server. The updated packages fix this problem by adding a new
option in the squid configuration file.
When a redirector returned a "HTTP/1.0 302 Found" for a CONNECT method
request, squid-2.5.STABLE3-6.3E.16 misunderstood it and thought that 302
was a domain.
All users of squid should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues.
