RHBA-2006:0314 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
RPM bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated rpm packages that fix various issues are now available.
Description
The RPM Package Manager (RPM) is a powerful command-line driven package
management system capable of installing, uninstalling, verifying, querying,
and updating software packages.
An issue was discovered that could cause an illegal instruction during
platform detection. This issue has been fixed.
A potential deadlock in scriptlet execution has been fixed.
File descriptors in scriptlets are now set to be closed.
Command line recognition for ia32e as an architecture in name.arch queries
has been fixed.
The ability to ignore size on RPM command line erasures has been added,
which works around an issue with removing packages on systems with stale
NFS mounts.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
