RHBA-2006:0152 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
nfs-utils bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated nfs-utils packages are now available that correct a regression in
the exporting, re-exporting and un-exporting of file systems in a cluster
environment.
Description
The nfs-utils package provides a daemon for the kernel NFS server and
related tools, providing a much higher level of performance than the
traditional Linux NFS server used by most users.
The following issue have been addressed:
When a file system was re-exported (that is, using the exportfs command to
either delete or add NFS exported file systems), the modification time on
the systemfile was not updated correctly. Because the modification time
was not updated, the rpc.mountd system daemon did not flush the old exports
and re-read the new exports. This caused clients trying to mount the
re-exported file system to fail with a permission denied error.
Users of nfs-utils should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
this issue.
