An updated binutils package that fixes several bugs and adds support for
the .weakref assembler directive is now available.
Description
Binutils is a collection of utilities used for the creation of executable code.
This updated package addresses the following issues:
- PowerPC symbol@tocbase and R_PPC64_TOC with non-zero symbol support
- Weak symbol merging fixes
- objdump disassembler crashes on random section data
- Man page additions
Additionally, .weakref assembler directive support has been added.
All users of binutils should upgrade to this updated package, which
resolves these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:
up2date
