Updated util-linux packages that fix several bugs are now available.
Description
The util-linux package contains a collection of basic system utilities.
This update also fixes the following bugs:
- the newgrp command gave misleading output
- the look command did not work with separators
- the login command timeout failed
- the login command ran even if it had no read/write access to the terminal
- the login command did not report to the audit system
- the umount command did not support /sbin/umount.<TYPE>
- the losetup and mount commands did not work correctly with an offset
greater than 2GB
- the mount command reads did not support the 'noacl' mount flag
- a reduced number of possible simultaneous tcp mounts
- the floppy command did not work with generic /dev/fd0
- the PAM configuration for the login command contained the 'multiple' option
- the mkswap man page gave incorrect information
- the NFS man page was incomplete
- the mount man page was incomplete
All users of util-linux should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:
up2date
