RHBA-2005:824 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
scrollkeeper bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated scrollkeeper packages that fix a resource leak are now available.
Description
ScrollKeeper is a cataloging system for documentation. It manages
documentation metadata and provides a simple API to allow help browsers to
find, sort, and search the document catalog.
A bug was found in the scrollkeeper-update program that caused it to keep
open a large number of open file descriptors while cataloging
documentation. This number, under certain circumstances, could exceed
per-process system limits and cause scrollkeeper-update to fail.
All users should upgrade to these updated scrollkeeper packages, which
resolve this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
