RHBA-2005:693 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
mkinitrd bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated mkinitrd package that fixes two bugs is now available.
Description
The mkinitrd package creates file system images for use as initial ramdisk
(initrd) images.
Previously, a bug made an incorrect reference in grub.conf when adding a
new kernel. The reference failed to specify the use of a serial console in
the parameters sent to the kernel.
Previously, the nash utility failed to handle a large number of partitions,
which could cause a boot failure if the root partition could not be found.
All users of mkinitrd should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves
these issues.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
