RHBA-2005:548 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
iscsi-initiator-utils bug fix
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated iscsi-initiator-utils package that fixes several bugs is now
available.
Description
The iscsi package provides the server daemon for the iSCSI protocol,
as well as the utility programs used to manage it. iSCSI is a protocol
for distributed disk access using SCSI commands sent over Internet
Protocol networks.
When a large number of iscsi devices were scanned by iscsi-ls, an array
overflow could occur and cause a segmentation fault in iscsi-ls. This
overflow has been corrected.
The default ESTABLISHTIMEOUT has been increased to 30 seconds from 15
seconds. See /etc/sysconfig/iscsi to adjust this timeout.
Some parameters in the man pages, README, and example iscsi.conf file were
not correctly shown. The ActiveTimeout parameter was shown by iscsi-ls,
but no example of how to use it showed up in the iscsi.conf file or
iscsi.conf man page. The example iscsi.conf file and related documentation
stated that the Subnet, Address, and SLPMulticast fields could take
comma-separated values, when that was not the case. HostIPsForMP was
misspelled as HostIPForMP in the example iscsi.conf file. All of these
configuration and documentation errors have been corrected.
Users are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which resolves these
issues.
