RHBA-2005:321 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
redhat-config-samba bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated redhat-config-samba package that fixes various bugs is now
available.
Description
The redhat-config-samba package is a graphical user interface for creating,
modifying, and deleting Samba shares.
- Samba passwords (smbpasswd) are different from normal system login
passwords (passwd). This updated redhat-config-samba package fixes a bug
in which smbpasswd tries to use '-s' to supply a password on stdin, which
is no longer supported in newer versions of the Samba core packages.
- With security not set in smb.conf, older versions of the package assumed
an incorrect default value.
All users of redhat-config-samba are advised to upgrade to this updated
package, which resolves these issues.

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
