RHBA-2005:148 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
gnome-vfs2 bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated gnome-vfs2 packages that fix Nautilus startup are now available.
Description
GNOME VFS is the GNOME virtual file system. It is the foundation of the
Nautilus file manager. It provides a modular architecture and ships with
several modules that implement support for file systems, http, ftp, and
others. It provides a URI-based API, backend supporting asynchronous file
operations, a MIME type manipulation library, and other features.
The following issues have been addressed:
- Nautilus intermittently crashed on startup when calling FAMClose and
while opening folders in Start Here folder.
- During Nautilus startup, Nautilus attempted to remount file systems that
had been unmounted when Nautilus was last exited. Nautilus regularly
watched the list of mounted file systems and kept track of them in
~/.gnome/gnome-vfs/.trash_entry_cache and attempted to access/mount those
file systems at startup.
All users of gnome-vfs2 should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve these issues.
