RHBA-2005:116 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
chkconfig bug fix update
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated chkconfig packages that fix bugs related to handling LSB comments
and directives are now available.
Description
Chkconfig is a basic system utility. It updates and queries runlevel
information for system services. Chkconfig manipulates the numerous
symbolic links in /etc/rc.d, to relieve system administrators of some
of the drudgery of manually editing the symbolic links.
When both LSB-style and chkconfig-style comments were in a script header,
the behavior of chkconfig would be dependent on the order of the two
comments, and would be incorrect in some cases. These problems have been
resolved to ensure consistent behavior regardless of the ordering of the
comments.
All users of chkconfig should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
