RHBA-2004:700 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Updated aspell packages
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
Updated aspell packages that fix spell checking bugs in certain
scenarios introduced by previous errata packages are now available.
Description
Aspell is a spelling checker designed to eventually replace Ispell.
Aspell's primary advantage (over Ispell) is a greater ability to suggest
correct spellings. Aspell includes both compiletime and runtime support for
non-English languages and can spell check (La)TeX and HTML files.
Changes to the aspell package that enable the use of 32-bit packages on
64-bit architectures caused the utilities to fail in certain scenarios,
including when called from the Evolution groupware client.
All users of aspell should upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues.
Solution
