Updated glibc packages that fix a problem in syslog are now available.
Description
The GNU libc packages (known as glibc) contain the standard C libraries
used by applications.
The syslog(3) function has been fixed, so that if the syslog daemon is
temporarily unavailable, logging does not permanently switch to logging
over TCP.
All users with applications that utilize glibc should upgrade to the new
packages.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:
up2date
