RHBA-2004:524 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
Updated tcsh package
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated tcsh package that fixes various bugs is now available.
Description
Tcsh is an enhanced but completely compatible version of csh, the C
shell. Tcsh is a command language interpreter which can be used both
as an interactive login shell and as a shell script command processor.
This updated package addresses the following issues:
- Did not check often enough for terminal size changes, which resulted in
a corrupted display during interactive command editing.
- Placed unnecessary restrictions on names of variables in the
built-in setenv command.
- Attempted to activate large file support when processing redirections
on 64-bit architectures, resulting in "Text file busy" errors when
running shell scripts.
- Read commands from the socket used for connection to the LDAP server,
instead of its correct input stream, when the nss_ldap module is in use.
All users of tcsh should upgrade to this updated package, which resolves
these issues.
