Topic
An updated sysreport package that fixes system crash with dmidecode is
now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.
Description
Sysreport is a utility that gathers information about a system's hardware
and configuration.
The current sysreport calls dmidecode to get the hardware information and
causes a system crash.
This updated sysreport package fixes this problem.
All users of sysreport should upgrade to these updated packages, which
resolve this issue.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied. Use Red Hat
Network to download and update your packages. To launch the Red Hat
Update Agent, use the following command:
up2date
