RHBA-2002:230 - Bug Fix Advisory
Synopsis
New ntp package fixes a bug in parsing command line options
Type/Severity
Bug Fix Advisory
Topic
An updated version of the NTP daemon is available for Red Hat Linux
Advanced Server 2.1. This version fixes several bugs.
Description
An updated version of the NTP daemon is available for Red Hat Linux
Advanced Server, and fixes several bugs:
A bug in the NTP daemon forced the -x command line option to mistakenly
require an argument. This was due to the "drop root privileges" patch
(-U). This version corrects this problem, allowing the -x option to be
used as documented.
ntpdate was unable to synchronize time and date if the offset was too large.
The ntp-genkeys utility program used incorrect pathnames.
Solution

relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,

RPMs being upgraded on your system.
