RHEA-2016:0644 - Product Enhancement Advisory
Synopsis
RedHat-PassSync bug fix and enhancement update
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory
Topic
Updated RedHat-PassSync packages that fix one bug and add one enhancement are now available for Red Hat Directory Server 9.1.
Description
PassSync is a Windows service that runs on every domain controller. It intercepts clear text password updates and sends them to a Directory Server instance running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
This update fixes the following bug:
- The PassSync installer was previously overwriting the "Notification Packages" value in the registry instead of appending to it. As a consequence, any previous values existing in this registry entry were lost when the installation finished. This update fixes the installer, and installing PassSync no longer eliminates existing "Notification Packages" registry entries. (BZ#1322593)
In addition, this update adds the following enhancement:
- The PassSync service has been rebuilt with the latest version of the NSS cryptographic library. (BZ#1317668)
Users of RedHat-PassSync are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug and add this enhancement.
