Topic
Updated rhs-hadoop-install package that adds many
enhancements and fix multiple bugs are now available for Red Hat Storage 3.
Description
Red Hat Storage is a software only scale-out storage solution that provides
flexible and affordable unstructured data storage. Red Hat Storage 3.0
unifies data storage and infrastructure, increases performance, and
improves availability and manageability to meet enterprise-level storage
challenges. Red Hat Storage provides compatibility for Apache Hadoop and
it uses the standard file system APIs available in Hadoop to provide a
new storage option for Hadoop deployments.
This update fixes numerous bugs and adds various enhancements including support for 3-way replication.
This advisory adds the following enhancements:
- BZ# 1170336 - Synchronous three-way replication is now fully supported
in Red Hat Storage volumes. The supported volume configuration for Hadoop
is Distributed Replicated volume with replica count 2 or 3. New option
- -replica is added to use in conjunction with create_vol.sh to specify
the replica count while creating volumes for use with Hadoop.
- BZ# 1196292 - Now you must use bin/gen_dirs.sh in conjunction with
bin/add_dirs.sh to create list of Hadoop directories on the volume.
All users of Red Hat Storage are advised to install these updated packages.
