RHEA-2010:0015 - Product Enhancement Advisory
Synopsis
New package: spacewalk-reports
Type/Severity
Product Enhancement Advisory
Red Hat Insights patch analysis
Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
A new spacewalk-reports package that provides a tool to generate detailed,
pre-formatted reports of various Satellite resources is now available for
Red Hat Network Satellite.
Description
The spacewalk-reports package contains a suite of scripts that generates
CSV-formatted reports for the most commonly requested Satellite resources:
- Entitlements and subscriptions
- System inventory
- Software and errata
- Users and groups
The report is generated from the local Satellite server database by running
the 'spacewalk-report' command, which then displays the report to standard
output in comma-separated values (or CSV) format. The report that is
generated is specified by name as a parameter to 'spacewalk-report'.
For example, to generate a report on all systems registered to a Satellite,
run the command 'spacewalk-report inventory' at a Satellite server shell
prompt.
Users of Red Hat Network Satellite who want formatted reports of their
Satellite resources are advised to install this newly-released package,
which adds this enhancement.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. Install package
spacewalk-reports to your RHN Satellite.
For Satellite on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server:
yum install spacewalk-reports
For Satellite on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4AS:
up2date -i spacewalk-reports
