Details

An updated parted package that adds virtio device support is now available.

The GNU Parted program allows you to create, destroy, resize, move, and
copy hard disk partitions. Parted can be used for creating space for new
operating systems, reorganizing disk usage, and copying data to new hard
disks.

This update adds the following enhancement:

* BZ#479678. virtio is an API for handling virtual I/O devices in
virtualization environments. virtio disks did not properly re-scan the
partition table after changing it. The re-scanning did not occur because
Parted marked virtio disks as "unknown" and did not do the re-scan. With
this update a VIRTIO disk type has been added to Parted, enabling support
for virtio devices.

Parted users should install this update which adds this enhancement.
