Details

An updated diskdumputils package that contains documentation enhancements
is now available.

The diskdump utilities set up the kernel to save a memory image to a
specified partition.

This updated package contains the following enhancements to its
documentation:

* on systems with the IBM® Remote Supervisor Adapter II (RSA-II) card
installed and the RSA-II card's "O/S watchdog" and "NMI reset delay" timers
enabled, the dump process could be interrupted when running diskdump. Such
interruptions left a vmcore-incomplete file on the system. This updated
package contains an additional note in the README file advising users it is
always safe to disable the "O/S watchdog" and "NMI reset delay" timers.
Doing so ensures diskdump succeeds and generates a complete vmcore file.

* the README file now also documents the new "halt_on_err" kernel module
tuneable parameter. This parameter controls whether the system should halt
or restart if the diskdump procedure fails.

All users with the RSA-II card installed on their systems should upgrade to
this updated package.
