A new package, aide, is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.
AIDE (Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment) is a file integrity
checker.
Using rules read from the aide.conf file, AIDE creates a database of file
attribute and extended attribute information (extended attributes will only
be added to the database when aide is explicitly enabled to do so). It can
then use several algorithms to check file integrity by comparing the aide
database and the filesystem. Algorithms used by AIDE for integrity checking
include md5, sha1, rmd160, tiger and haval. New checking algorithms can
also be added.
All users requiring aide should install this newly-released package.
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
