A new udftools package is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2.
The Universal Disk Format (UDF) is a file system optimized for optical
media. It is the standard file system on DVD Video, DVD Audio and Blu-ray
disks. It is also sometimes used as the file system on CD-R and CD-RW
disks. Less common, but not unknown, is the use of the UDF file system on
hard disks and large flash media drives.
The udftools package includes a number of user-level tools for managing and
creating udf file systems.
All users needing tools for formatting a device as UDF, creating empty UDF
file systems and various low-level UDF management tasks (such as setting
the write speed for a udf-formatted disk) should install this newly
released package.
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. Details on how to use
