An enhanced sysklogd package that adds a mechanism to restart the rsyslog
daemon after rotating the system logs and a bug fix is now available.
The sysklogd package contains two system utilities (syslogd and klogd) that
provide support for system logging. Syslogd and klogd run as daemons and
log system messages to different places such as sendmail logs, security
logs, and error logs.
This updated sysklogd package adds an enhancement so that the logrotate
command is now able to restart rsyslog as well as sysklogd.
In addition, this update fixes a bug in which syslogd would not
automatically resume logging to partitions that had run out of space and
then had space made available again.
Users of sysklogd are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which
adds this enhancement.
Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
