Details

A new freeipmi package is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2.

The FreeIPMI project provides "Remote-Console" (out-of-band) and
"System Management Software" (in-band) based on the Intelligent
Platform Management Interface specification.

This erratum contains a Technology Preview of FreeIPMI.

Technology Preview features are not currently supported under Red Hat
Enterprise Linux subscription services, may not be functionally complete,
and are generally not suitable for production use. Please visit
http://www.redhat.com/support/service/ for details on the Red Hat support
policies.

All users requiring FreeIPMI should install this newly released package,
which adds this enhancement.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released
errata relevant to your system have been applied.
