Details

A new package, svrcore, that provides secure PIN storage for applications
is now available

Svrcore uses the facilities provided by Mozilla Network Security Services
(NSS). This package contains header files and symbolic links to develop
programs which will use the libsvrcore library.

The svrcore packages provide applications with several ways to handle
secure PIN storage. For example, in an application that must be restarted
without user intervention, but requires a PIN to unlock the private key
and other cryptographic material.

The svrcore packages are used by Mozilla LDAP C SDK and the Red Hat
Directory Server to provide secure PIN storage.

All users requiring these features are advised to install these newly
released packages, which add these enhancements.

Solution

Users are advised to install this package if they plan to use the Red Hat
Directory Server 8.0 or the Mozilla LDAP C SDK command line utilities. No
other applications use svrcore, and no other applications should be affected.
