Details

Updated system-config-network packages which fix a bug are now available.

The Network Configuration Tool (system-config-network) is a
graphical interface which supports Ethernet, Wireless, IPSec, TokenRing,
ADSL, ISDN and PPP configuration.

The pump source RPM, which netconfig is built from, is no longer part of
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This could cause broken ifcfg scripts when
configuring network interfaces using netconfig. This updated package
removes netconfig. Users are advised to configure network interfaces using
system-config-network.

All system-config-network users are advised to upgrade to these updated
packages, which resolve this issue.

Solution

Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.

This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:

up2date

This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
