Identify and remediate systems affected by this advisory.
Topic
A new SOS package that replaces sysreport is now available.
Description
The SOS package is a set of tools that gathers information about system
hardware and configuration. The information can then be used for diagnostic
and debugging purposes. SOS is used to help support technicians and
developers.
Enhancements added in this new package include:
- a progress bar that displays estimated time left.
- SOS has been multi-threaded to increase performance.
- SOS can now automatically enable and disable plug-ins it requires on
the fly.
- diagnostic troubleshooting on common misconfiguration and other
problems, in particular clustering related.
- localization support.
- generates an XML report which includes a summary of the commands
executed, exit codes, local files gathered, times and permissions. This
XML report is used for diagnostic and debugging purposes.
All users should upgrade to the new SOS package which replaces the
sysreport package.
