An enhanced device-mapper-multipath package is now available.
Description
The device-mapper-multipath packages provide tools to manage multipath
devices by instructing the device-mapper multipath kernel module what to
do.
Enhancements included in this update are:
- Support for multipath on cciss devices.
- Implicit support for EMC CLARiiON arrays with ALUA functionality.
- Support for multipath on RDAC storage (e.g. IBM DS4000, DELL MD3000).
Bugs fixed in this update include:
- multipath -ll was hanging when run on a quiesced pav enabled dasd.
- multipath could silently fail while scanning the paths.
- multipath could not use user-friendly-names if the bindings file was on a
read-only filesystem.
- the multipathd init script occasionally returned a nonstandard error
code.
- multipath did not provide static binaries for use in the initramfs.
- multipath did not correctly create multipath devices onIBM SAN Volume
Controllers. (vendor=IBM, product=2145)
All users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which resolve
these issues and add these enhancements.
Solution
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata
relevant to your system have been applied.
This update is available via Red Hat Network. To use Red Hat Network,
launch the Red Hat Update Agent with the following command:
up2date
This will start an interactive process that will result in the appropriate
RPMs being upgraded on your system.
